VolumeID from Microsoft changes the serial number of hard drives. The freeware is slim in the download and simple to use. Hard disk drives have two serial numbers: first, the serial number of the physical components - which can not be changed, but this also should not be required. The Volume ID, however, to be awarded at each formatting process and serves Windows & Co. as a unique identifier of the plate. The application is invoked from the command line and is largely self-explanatory. If the new ID entered, it only needs a reboot of the PC. The volume ID you do not change every day certainly. However, to get to the point, is the free VolumeID the right helpers.
